Obituaries

Glenn J. Payne 88 of Sherman TX went to his Heavenly Home on December 18 2012 while at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ. Services will be held on December 20 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Houston Garner of Hebron Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive visitors at 12:00 p.m. prior to service. Mr. Payne will be laid to rest at Gunter Cemetery in Gunter TX following funeral services. Pallbearers will be Eric Hyepock Chris Hyepock Dwayne Hyepock and David Hutcheson. Glenn was born in Gunter TX on December 5 1924 to John Stephen Payne and Lillian (Payne) Payne. He attended Gunter schools. On August 19 1950 he married Betty Juanita Cummings in Denton Texas. They celebrated their 60th Anniversary in August 2010. Betty preceded him in death May 18th 2011. Glenn was preceded in death by both parents sister Mildred Pigg brothers Clyde Eugene Marvin Johnny Orie J.C. & A.C. Payne. Glenn was a welder by trade and retired from Hale Manufacturing in 1986. He was a member of Union Street Church of Christ in Whitesboro TX. He grew up on a farm and learned at young age how to work hard and that he did to provide for his family. He was a loving husband to his wife and wonderful dad and an even better PaPa to his grandchildren. He could work on anything with a motor on it and fix anything around the house. He enjoyed staying busy playing chinese checkers with the kids and grandkids. He had a sweet and gentle nature he loved talking and sharing stories of his youth. Survivors are his three sons, Billy Payne and wife Sharon of Mt. Holly NC Jimmy Payne of Sherman Roger Dale Payne and fianc�© Kelly Broomfield of Pekin Il daughter Donna Hyepock and husband Dwayne of Bells TX grandchildren, Eric Hyepock and wife Jessica of Norman OK Chris Hyepock and Becky of North Las Vegas NV Amanda Overton and husband Jeremy of Colbert OK and Bradley Payne of Sherman.
