A Homegoing Celebration will be held for Helen Marie Hammer, 88, of Sherman, who passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in Denison, Texas, on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Akers Cemetery in Sherman. Pastor Ryan Dobbs of First Baptist Church of Tom Bean will officiate.

Marie was born on January 26, 1932 to Frank and Eva Coplin Sales in Ambia Community in Lamar County, Texas. She graduated high school and met the married Johnny Charles Hammer on April 9, 1954. Her husband became a preacher who preached revivals at many different churches. Marie also had a passion for spreading the Word of God and would do that to her family, friends and all who would listen. She spread God's Love until her voice could no longer speak. She will be greatly missed and she is now rejoicing with her husband in the arms of Jesus.

Marie is survived by children; David Hammer and wife Briget, Michael Hammer, Johnathan Hammer and Julia Hammer and husband Daryl; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
