Helen, what a great sister. II wish I could share all the things you've told me 30 years that you had done but so many of them would've been such a surprise to people so I guess I'll just keep them all under my hat. All the great trips and laughs we had together Will be remembered forever.

Helen was one of my favorite people. When I first met her In 1980, I was scared to death of her, but when I got through that tough outer shell, she was just a softie. She always loved George Jones, so we managed ( with the help of Kathy Meador) to kidnap Helen ant take her to Dallas to see George Jones. Although that was almost 40 years ago, I remember how happy she was to see George in person. Rest In Peace Helen and maybe George will sing you a song.

I met Helen almost 20 years ago and had the great honor of working with her on the nightshift at the McKinney hospital. Helen was old school, a nurse's nurse. She was not afraid of hard work, took each challenge as it came, and was unflappable. The phrase I most remember her saying most was "put on your big girl panties and get on with it." She had the biggest heart and the best smile. She loved her family. When her daughter Karen (aka Grasshopper) graduated from nursing school I don't think I've ever seen a prouder momma. I remember when I first met Helen, she always seemed to keep children at a distance. It wasn't that she didn't like kids, she just didn't seem to be interested in having them around. . But oh how that changed when her grandchildren were born. She adored her grandkids and lit up whenever she talked about them. Helen blessed us all with her presence and she was loved deeply. She made me a better nurse. The world is a little less bright with her passing and heaven is a whole light shinier with her arrival. I love you Helen...we will see each other again. In the meantime, prayers for peace for the family and friends of this remarkable lady.
