Obituary For Iris Edwards

Iris Purdon Edwards, age 83, formerly of Garland, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, in Sherman, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas. Pastor Leland Samuelson will officiate. Iris was born in Lemon, South Dakota, on September 25, 1934, to Harold Purdon and Gladys (Alkire) Purdon. She graduated from Bison High School and worked as a homemaker and accountant. Iris is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Iris is survived by her children: Carmen Lowell and husband John, Brenda Geisler and husband Pete, David Edwards and wife Paulette, and Kay LeBlanc-Kobs and husband Steve. She is also survived by grandchildren: Amie Young, Cristin Childre and husband Zack, Marcus Edwards and friend Brittany Popplewell, Tyler Edwards, Shaela Kobs, Nic LeBlanc, Aubree Kobs, and Cassie LeBlanc. Great grandchildren: Eli Childre, Dylan Childre, Jacob Childre, and Ruby Edwards. The greatest joys in her life were spending time with her grandchildren and playing bridge.
