Obituary For Jackie Johnston

A graveside service for Jackie Marie Johnston, 87, of Sherman, who passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center, will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Carson Cemetery in Ector, Texas at 1:00pm. Pastor Morris Cook of Ector Baptist Church will officiate. Jackie was born December 17, 1930 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Frank and Lillian Barron. She married Clayton Jack Johnston in March of 1949 and they had 3 children, Jack Paul, Jerry and Joni. Jackie was a wonderful mom who invested a lot of time and energy into her marriage, her children and her home. In the early seventies she began working at Texas Instruments. She enjoyed her work very much and made many friends. She retired in the mid 1990s to pursue her favorite pastime of taking long rides in their RV. She and her husband traveled around the country, often accompanied by their four grandchildren. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Margaret Jackson, and eldest son Jack Paul Johnston. She is survived by her husband, Clayton J. Johnston, daughter, Joni Henson and husband Michael, son, Jerry Johnston and wife Cindy, sister Doris Brownfield and husband TJ; 10 grandchildren: Joni and Jeff Hanka, JohnJohnston, Amanda Johnston, Ryan and Ginger Henson, David and Greta Henson, Nat McWilliams, and Jeremy Killian; 10 great-grandchildren: Stephen Reid Hanka, Corinne Hanka, Reese Johnston, James Mira, Natalia Mira, Isabella Henson, Michael D. Henson, Nathan McWilliams, Kyle McWilliams, and Chelsea McWilliams; and beloved pet, Rena. Honorary pallbearers for Jackie will be David Henson, Ryan Henson, John Johnston, Jeff Hanka, Mark Brownfield, and Reid Hanka. You may sign the online guestbook at www.Dannelfuneralhome.com.
