Obituary For Jacob Hinton

Jacob Andrew Hinton, 17, a special needs young man from Allen, Texas, whose lifelong struggle with disabilities served as an inspiration to all who knew him was received into Jesus’ arms on Saturday,October 24th, 2015 with his family surrounding him. Jacob was born on July 2, 1998 in Jacksonville,Florida the son of Kristina Hinton Waller and Michael Hinton. He attended primary school in Pottsboro ISD and Frisco ISD. He has been home bound the last three years. Jacob was a young man full of life, love, joy and amazing smiles. Although he faced many struggles in his daily life from a seizure disorder, which left him mentally at an 18-month level, he always had a smile to share. Jacob's entire life was a reflection of a truly gifted spirit, which allowed him to help and encourage others with his love, smile and embrace along his life path and journey. During Jacob’s younger years he was active, he was on the move and he loved to run. Jacob enjoyed riding the bus to school, Special Olympics, swimming and anything outside where he could see transportation. Jacob had a passion for anything transportation, and loved airplanes, tractors, buses, trains, helicopters, cars, trucks, boats and motorcycles. His favorite movie of all time was Top Gun and he must have seen it over 5000 times, yet each time he watched it as if it was the first time he had seen it. As his conditioned worsened over the last two years he lost the ability to walk and spent most of his time in his "chair" and his wheelchair. During his time on earth he was full of laughter and smiles for anyone who came to see him. Jacob may not have been able to speak many words but he communicated clearly through his unconditional love, sparkling eyes, incredible smiles, embracing hugs, sounds of joy and screams of happiness. Jacob had an immense love for his caretakers and although they were with him to assist in his medical care, they were a large part of our family. Alisa who cared for Jacob for over 12 years was affectionately called Nini and their bond was incredible. Veronique cared for him for over 8 years was Jacob’s partner in crime when he was being mischievous; they loved to snuggle. Michelle also cared for Jacob for over 8 years, they loved to be on the go and he enjoyed spending time with her daughters. Mindy cared for Jacob for over 7 years was his swimming partner and they loved going for rides to find tractors and trucks. Maria and Debbie cared for Jacob for over a year and they shared a bond of taking walks around the neighborhood. Throughout his life, Jacob and his family were blessed with amazing caregivers to help assist all of his medical needs and share in his joyful life. Jacob's life will be remembered as a testimony to strength, determination, grace, unconditional love and taking all you can out of each day. Although young in age, Jacob was the strongest and bravest person as he faced each medical challenge. His determination to continue to walk, crawl and be as independent as possible reminded all around him, never to give up because you can always push forward. Jacob's unconditional love and grace for all he encountered was the way he touched so many lives. He never knew a stranger and drew those around him in with his hello and smiles. You knew each time you were in his presence that he loved you and he was encouraging you, this was his gift from God. Jacob showed everyone around him through his last two years of life to remember to take in each day and count your blessings. Some of his days were not as good as others but there was always something to be thankful for - some days it was the passing of an airplane or a tractor working on the street. Jacob taught us all immeasurable lessons in compassion, unconditional love and that the simplest things in life can truly bring you the most joy.
