My love is with your entire family. Having known "Lefty" since childhood in Grace United Methodist Church and at Bel Air High School in El Paso, his passing came as a big shock. He was a wonderful person, open and caring and quick to help others. All of his friends from Bel Air are mourning, along with all of you. We will miss him GREATLY.

It us with a heavy heart that I find myself writing these words. Jim was a man I admired and gor whom I had great respect. He was a blessing for all who knew him. His commitment to service and listening ear were traits that are rare. For Andrea and family, I send prayers of comfort and peace.

To the family of James Welch My deepest sympathy to you and your family. It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take someone you love. When it happens the thought of never being able to talk to laugh with or being able to hold again can be difficult to bear. This pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your loved ones up in heaven. The Bible however gives us hope. In John 5:28;29. We find that those who are in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (Jesus)and come out to a resurrection of live and live in a paradise earth, with or without any more death, evil or sorrows.. JIM WELCH WAS AN INSPIRATION TO OUR FAMILY AND WE LOVED HIM DEARLY. WE APPRECIATE THAT HE WAS SO KIND AND LOVING TO LUTHER AND MARY AND TO THE REST OF THE RAGSDALE FAMILIES. Chaplain Jim Welch was a mentor to dozens of younger chaplains during his Army career. I am one of those who were blessed to be mentored under his leadership. I am now a Tyson chaplain too and will miss him here. Jim, I'll see you on the other side. May the Lord comfort your loved ones as they mourn your passing.

Our hearts are so heavy because we have lost a true brother and friend. We rejoice that God's warrior has gone home and we will see him in the sweet bye and bye. All our love to Andrea and the whole family.

Andrea and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Jim was such a fine example of how a Christian should live his or her life. I just want to express my sincere condolence for the loss of Jim. I had the pleasure of working with him at TCOG and always enjoyed his wit and his happy spirit. Jim left a lasting impression on me and I will miss him.

I am so sad to hear of Jim's passing. Jim was an amazing man and a great asset to the SfS Board. I feel blessed to have known Jim and am happy we stayed in touch after your family left Wyoming. The world will be a sadder place without him but heaven is rejoicing! May God sustain you at this time.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a wonderful man and his friends and family will miss him.

I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. I worked with "The Colonel" at TCOG. We shared many military stories and sayings. We saluted each other every morning and then again as we left every evening. He was a devoted husband and dedicated Christian man who I looked up to and asked for advice. He will be missed by many. RIP Colonel.
