Obituary For James L. Henry, Jr.

James L. Henry Jr., 75, of Denison, Texas (formerly of Joliet, Illinois), passed away on August 24, 2023.

James was born in Joliet, Illinois, to Alice P. Tatro and James L. Henry Sr. on November 19th, 1947. He is a 1967 graduate of Joliet East High School. James worked in the steel industry for over 40 years until his retirement.

James is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Gail Ledbetter, and his wife, Elizabeth Skirvin Tyson.

James is survived by his children: Shawn M. Henry (Sara) of Elgin, Ilinois, Delfina Kluska (Mark) of Oxford, Michigan, Laura Henry (Justin Foth) of Joliet, Illinois, Robert Skirvin Adams of Denison, Texas. His grandchildren: Noah and Ella Henry and Mark R. Kluska.

James was a loving father and grandfather. He often boasted that the best accomplishment in his life was his children. He taught them how to think and not what to think. He loved the outdoors, bowling, cars and racing.

A private service was held for immediate family at Dannel Funeral Home.

    So sorry to hear of James's passing. I live just down Immigrant trail on Butterfield road. He and I visited and I credit him with talking me out of buying a wind generator. Good neighbor for many years and I will miss him. God Bless Phillip Shaffer 447 Butterfield Road
