I am named after sweet Jane-Pamela JANE Long Cosby. My mother, Melva Burns Long, and Jane were best friends and vowed to name their daughters after each other; thus Melva Hignight. When I was a little girl I remember visiting them in Sherman many times. Mother and Jane kept up with each other until my mother's passing in 2020. After that Jane and I kept up with each other. I cherish the many cards and letters she sent to me, always signed "I love you very much." When I called Brookdale on Wednesday to get an address for Easter flowers for her, they told me I needed to speak with family and took my number. God bless you all—she was blessed to have such a big family who loved her. You will miss her and celebrate her and her legacy in the days to come. I will miss her precious cards and love for her namesake. I am honored to share her name. Pam Cosby
