Obituary For Jannine Lois Alexander

Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31: 31

The world lost and heaven gained a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Jannine Lois Crawford Brandes Alexander joined our Lord and Savior on March 31, 2022, while at home in Corpus Christi, Texas. Our mother was born November 22, 1935, in Wellington, Texas. After graduating Willington High School, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Joe Brandes, who preceded her in death on August 12, 1989. Our mother and father started a business together in 1964, J. Brandes, Inc., which continues to this day, 58 years later. Her life was filled with her love of our Lord and Savior. She served at the First Baptist Church in Dallas, pastored by Dr. W.A. Criswell, where she led an evangelizing team, and sang in the choir. She continued to serve the Lord in various capacities until the time of her death.

Our mother leaves her family the greatest legacy one can pass on to their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. A legacy of character and precious gift of faith, which will forever enrich our lives.

Mother is survived by her son, Don Bartlett, and daughter, Kim Edgar and husband, Jim. Mother was “Mimi” to 3 grandchildren: Brandi Luna, Brittainy Boggs and husband Darren, Travis Mount and wife Chelsea. There are 5 great grandchildren: Kalib Grubbs, Sadie Luna, Patton Boggs, Pierce Boggs, and Logan Mount. Nobody held us so tight or made us feel so right. No one’s eyes shined so bright with love as our mother.

A graveside service will be held at West Hill Cemetery on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Leland Samuelson will officiate. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dannel Funeral Home.
