Services for Jason Michael Craven, 37, of Sherman who passed away Sunday June 18th, will be held on Saturday June 24, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Sherman at 1pm with Dr. Mike Lawson officiating. Interment will be at Akers Cemetery. The family will greet friends at Dannel Funeral Home on Friday, June 23 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Jason was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on September 10, 1979 to Michael and Aneva Craven. He moved back to Texas and settled in Sherman and attended Sherman Schools graduating from S&S in 1998. He attended East Texas Baptist University and played basketball for the school. He moved back to Sherman and later had a daughter, Ryleigh Craven, who was his world. Jason then met and married Caroline Switzer on August 11, 2015. Jason loved music and cars and had a vivacious sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and he loved all sports. He loved people and he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed. It is such disheartening news to hear of Jason's passing. I can still see his sweet, innocent face as he looked at me and asked, "Is it ok if I take your beautiful daughter to a movie?" I've rarely met a young man with such virtues as respect, kindness, and truthfulness as Jason had. And during the short few years I had the honor to know him, he displayed all of these virtues and more. An infectious smile, a warm hug, a positive word of encouragement: this is how I remember Jason. Heaven has taken back another precious Angel. ~ Diane (Conrad) George
