Obituary For Jeanne Henry

Send Flowers Jeanne E Henry January 8, 1933 - April 23, 2016 Jeanne Elizabeth (Sorsen) Henry was born on January 8, 1933, in Laurium, Lutheran heritage, formed much of her strong, admirable character, apparent even as a young girl. Following high school graduation, she honorably served in the Air Force, marrying fellow Airman Richard K. Henry. During his frequent deployments she raised their four children within the U.S. and Europe until his retirement in 1969 when the family settled in Sherman, Texas. During this time she completed a Licensed Vocational Nursing program and served in many different areas of nursing until ?nding her most meaningful professional role at Home Hospice of Grayson County for eighteen years. Following her retirement in 2007, she continued to serve her community as a volunteer: at WNJ, at Wake?eld Elementary, and in hospice care. She was a giver, an investor in lives, a godly encourager and a resolute woman of faith. She passed suddenly and unexpectedly after a brief illness, still full of hope and future plans, yet ready for God’s appointed time. Those of us left to mourn her passing live in the knowledge that on April 23, 2016, her Savior took her to her home in heaven; and that we will joyfully meet her there, as our faith is in the death of Christ for our sins, a truth we learned from her. She is survived by her four children, Vicki Yowell of Maryland; Marsha Henry (Tanya Scott) of CO; Derek Henry of NM; Lauren Hayes (Don) of Sherman; grandchildren Sharon Bronnee, Katerina Cluster (Scott), Isaac, Timothy and Elisabeth Yowell; Christina Castle (Brett), Summer and Sierra Hayes; seven great-grandchildren; many friends; and her beloved companion, Sophie the beagle. Pallbearers will be son, Richard Henry, son-in-law Don Hayes, grandson - in –law, Brett Castle, Mark Nagel, Ken Paith, Jason Stein. Services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sherman on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 2: 00 p.m. with Pastor Craig Sturm officiating with interment immediately following at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas. The family will receive visitors at Dannel Funeral Home on , Monday, April 25, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Jeanne is one of the most wonderful people I have met in my life. She made me feel so welcome when I came to work for Home Hospice of Grayson County in 2000. She gave me many hugs when needed and many laughs when needed. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of having her as a friend.

As I write, Im crying and laughing. Ms. Henry and I shared many days together riding around Sherman.....she giving a grand tour. Ms. Henry was a real not fake co passive person to all people. She was my best friend in Sherman. I will miss her but we will meet again.......I must stay in the Word of God like she shared with her mouth and life. Proverbs 17:17 summarizes Ms. Henrys Life to me - "A Friend loves at all times" Remember, death cannot take away good memories in your heart. God bless. Jacqueline Oliver
