Obituary For Jeffrey Keith Barnett

Jeffrey Keith Barnett, 62, Pottsboro, TX

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” Barnett on November 7, 2022. He passed peacefully at his home in Pottsboro after a long battle with cancer, with his wife of 38 years by his side.

Jeff was born on Johnson Air Base in Tokyo, Japan, July 23, 1960, to his parents George Barnett and Ernestine (Gist) Barnett. He was the fourth child born out of five siblings. His family moved to Perrin Air Force Base in 1963 and Jeff would live out his days in the surrounding Grayson County area.

He spent over two decades as a faithful employee of GlobiTech in Sherman, TX before being forced to retire due to his illness. In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed listening to his favorite music, cooking for his family, and relaxing on the back porch with a glass of wine. He loved all things “beach” and would vacation there as much as his busy life would allow. Jeff was also a proud, registered citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation in Oklahoma.

Jeff is greatly missed by his wife, Donna Barnett; son, Johnson Barnett; daughter, Alyssa Barnett-Lowther and son-in-law, David Lowther; two grandchildren, Adalyn and Jett, as well as his many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charlie Barnett and Tommy Barnett; sisters, Sharie (Barnett) Daugherty and Reymie Barnett.

A special thank you to his medical team, including his wife, who worked earnestly to give him the best care and kept him comfortable in his last days.

Memorial services to honor Jeff’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 13, in The Prothro Center at Lake Texoma, 269 Methodist Lane in Pottsboro.

Rest in Paradise, Dad.

Dear sweet Jeff, I remember when Lanny and I met you and Reymie. We had fun as kids hanging around with each other. Remembering when we were about 11 and you were my first boyfriend and my first kiss (peck) lol. We were the four musketeers there for a long time. I'm sorry you had to deal with such pain but so glad you had Donna by your side the whole time. God has you as his heavenly angel now. You were loved by everyone who was blessed to know you. God Bless You
