Obituary For Jeffrey William Schneider

After a 5 year battle with cancer, Jeffrey William Schneider moved to his forever home on New Year’s Eve. He was surrounded by family and loved ones at his home.

Jeff was born June 12 th , 1953 in St Joseph, Missouri to Verdes J Schneider and Marian (Utz) Schneider. Jeff grew up with his brother Steve and sister Perilla in Missouri, Michigan and California. He was a member of Friendship Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Whitesboro.

In 1973 he married Sandra (Harris) Schneider and the rest, as they say is history. He was the proud father of Shannon Scoggins and Jeffrey W Schneider II. But the real loves of his life were his grandchildren Ethan, Olivia and McKenna Scoggins. He also had a bonus daughter Becky Markham and a bonus grand daughter Katie (Schares) McCullough.

Jeff started his career in construction purchasing management and traveled in the US as well as several years abroad in Saudia Arabia, Kuwait and China. He never met a stranger. He established the first purchasing office for Grayson County and worked
there for 30 years. His years working for the county, including playing head Elf for Holiday Lights, were among his happiest.

Jeff enjoyed team roping and spent as much time as possible with his buddies at David Whitlock’s practice arena. He loved all things western and never saw a John Wayne movie he didn’t like. He and his family spent as much time as possible vacationing together and boating on Lake Texoma. After retirement, he loved his volunteer time and friendships with Habitat for Humanity of Grayson County.

He is dearly loved and will be missed by his wife of 51 years, Sandra; daughter Shannon Scoggins, husband Neil, grandchildren Ethan, McKenna and Olivia Scoggins all of Whitesboro; son Jeff and his wife Jaime of Valley View, TX and his nephew-son Connett Brewer of California. He is also survived by his brother Steve of Arkansas, brother and sister in law Danny and Juanita Harris of Sherman, brother in law Kirk Brewer of Sherman, sister in law Barbara Harris of Mt. Vernon and a number of much loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Perilla Brewer of Sherman, niece Jennifer Harris of Bonham, niece Alexia Brewer-Martinez of California and nephew Gabe Carter of Denison.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 10 th , 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 in the Fellowship Hall at the First Methodist Church of Whitesboro, Dr. Roy Spore officiating.

Serving as honorary pall bearers: David Whitlock, Gregg Allen, Kevin Janway, Clayton Medford, Ryan Williams, James Harris, Connett Brewer and Ethan Scoggins.

In lieu of flowers Jeff would be honored if you chose to make a donation in his name to
either Shriners Hospitals for Childfren (donate.lovetotherescue.org) or Habitat for
Humanity of Grayson County (graysonhabitat.org).

Though having only met you a couple times, I know how much you meant to everyone, and made the room a happier place.
