Jennie was born on September 7, 1976 in Sherman, Texas to Duane and Bobbie Gohlke. She and her brother Josh were raised in Sherman and attended Sherman schools. She met her husband of 25 years, Matthew Bailey after graduating high school and they married on April 27, 1996. Jennie and Matt had 4 children: Elizabeth, Brooke, Christian, and Nathanael. She loved her son in law, Matt, as her son and she adored her 10-month-old grandson, Colter. The family moved overseas to Germany because of her husband’s military service. They traveled extensively in Europe and eventually moved back to the United States and lived in many places before resettling back in Sherman. Jennie was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago and fought bravely with the help of her family and countless friends.

Jennie had a tremendous heart and was extremely thoughtful and giving. She loved her family and was an incredible mom and wife and Nana. She loved her church family at St. Mary’s Catholic church and was a devout Christian woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents. Jennie was a kind, loyal friend! I am so thankful for her friendship and I wish I could have done more for her over the years to show my gratitude for her support through one of the toughest times of my life. She was strong and resilient and a friend to all and showed strong character in everything she did! I know anyone that knew her was better for it, and I am praying for comfort and peace during this time for all of her family!
