Obituary For Jerry Martin

Jerry Paul Martin 63 of Sherman passed away November 10 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Family visitation will be held at Dannel Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 â�"" 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday November 13 2013 at Dannel Funeral Chapel. Pastor Roy Layman of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Gunter will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedarlawn Memorial Park immediately after the service. Guests are invited to a dinner hosted at Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Gunter following the interment. Mr. Martin was born in McKinney TX on November 8 1950 to Earl and Martha Martin. He attended Sherman High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Sylvia Lea Reynolds in Sherman TX on July 19 1974. He was a long-time employee of Howe ISD and had also worked for Johnson and Burks Plumbing Supply in Sherman. He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Gunter. Left to celebrate his life are his wife of 39 years Sylvia Reynolds Martin of Sherman, sons: Jarod Martin and wife Lara of Howe and Justin Martin and wife Nikki of Princeton, brother David Earl Martin of McKinney, sister Denita Martin of Denison, grandchildren Jace Martin Lilly Martin Mox Martin and Corbin Martin, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. His family was the most important thing in his life. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Martha Martin and his sister Delores Songer. Pallbearers will be nephew Wayne Martin friends Dickey Greene Kenny Calhoun Steve Gentry James Langford Johnny Lamb Don Thompson Jesse Stonebarger and John Hall. Honorary pallbearer will be Brooks Foster. In lieu of flowers the Martin family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice Plus at 116 S. Woods St. Sherman TX 75092.
