Obituary For Jill Annette Burns-Aynes

Jill Annette Burns was born on April 6, 1965. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to caring for others, loving her family fiercely, and making a difference in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

For more than 30 years, Jill dedicated her life to nursing, a calling that reflected the compassion and generosity of her heart. Through home health, she cared for people of all ages and walks of life, offering comfort, kindness, and support when it was needed most. Many of her patients became part of her family, just as she and her family became part of theirs. She also spent many years serving as a school nurse in the public school system, where her care extended far beyond medical needs. Jill went above and beyond for her students, looking out for them in ways that reached well beyond her job description. Whether caring for patients in their homes or tending to students at school, she made a lasting impact through her compassion, dedication, and the genuine love she showed others. Nursing was more than her career; it was a reflection of who she was.

Above all else, Jill was a wonderful, loving mother to her three daughters, Ashley Graves-Ramsey, Cherrish Paddock, and Taylor Williford, and a loving mother-in-law to Leander Williford Jr. She loved her girls deeply and was incredibly proud of each of them. Her daughters were a central part of her life, and the love she had for them was unwavering.

And then there were her grandchildren, who held a place in her heart all their own. Her grandchildren were her EVERYTHING! Dylan Paddock, Liam Graves-Ramsey, Ashton Williford, and Kingston Grant brought her immeasurable joy and were among the greatest blessings of her life. The love she had for them was immense, unconditional, and unmistakable. They were her pride, her happiness, and a precious part of the legacy of love she leaves behind.

Jill is also survived by her sisters, Donna Ramsey and Cindy Hatch Tacker; her nieces and nephews, Jimmy Measles, Johnny Perez, Misti Adams, Heather Barnes-Miller, Chasity Barnes, Amanda Woods, Justin Clark, Jared Burns, and Justin Burns; along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory.

Jill leaves behind her longtime significant other, Ignacio “JR” Gomez, who was an important part of her life and her journey.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harold “Corky” and Billie Jo Burns, affectionately known as Ma and Pa; her brothers, Michael Hatch and Jackie Lee Burns; and her brother-in-law, Aubrey Ramsey.

Though her family and friends feel the heartbreak of her passing, we find comfort in imagining the beautiful reunion awaiting her with those she loved and missed. We hold close the hope that Jill has been made whole again and welcomed into the perfect peace and joy of Heaven. After a lifetime spent caring for others, she can finally rest. The love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will continue to live on through the many people who were blessed to know her.

“And so shall we ever be with the Lord.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:17 -Her work here is done, but her love will never leave us.
