Jimmy Wade McDermett, 83, of Sherman Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Plano, Texas.

Visitation will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Parkview Church of Christ in Sherman, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Parkview Church of Christ in Sherman, TX. Burial will follow at Holloway Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dannel Funeral Home.

Jim was born in Tyler, Texas to O.C. and Lora McDermett on October 6, 1937. He obtained a B.S. degree from Abilene Christian University and then married Stella M White in Floresville, Texas. He worked for several years for Sherman ISD. Throughout his life he served as a Church of Christ Minister in places such as Bloomington, TX; Augusta, Kansas; Lipan, TX; Pearsall TX; and Houston, TX.

Jim W. McDermett is preceded in death by his wife Stella and daughter Jennifer.

Jim W McDermett is survived by Walton Lee McDermett and his spouse JoDee McDermett, of Forney TX. Michael Wayne McDermett and spouse Kristi McDermett, of Mesquite TX. David Wade McDermett and fiancé Carol Ringquist of Sherman, TX. Jim is survived by one sister Betty McLemore of Aledo, TX, and one sister in law Marietta Mosely of Floresville, TX. Ten Grand children Blair McDermett, Casey McDermett, Joey McDermett, Kali McDermett, Matt and Lori Hite, Ashley McDermett, Haley McDermett, Tyler McDermett, Taylor McDermett. Dalton Ringquist. Two Great-grandchildren, Tyler Scott May and Augustus Joe McDermett.

Jim was a passionate champion for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
