John was such a nice man. He worked with my late husband at the federal courthouse who passed away in 2007 and always remembered me - how I don't know because we seldom saw each other but he did. Prayers for peace and comfort. God bless - Jana Garner

John was one of the greatest men I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I meet him the first time as a reserve officer for Sherman. I then took a job at AC and saw him on a regular basis. He helped me find the words to reestablish a relationship with my father who was in the navy and did his time in Vietnam. Sometimes I felt as if I was talking to my dad. I will never forget him and will always think of him. He was a good one. God bless and comfort the family we will see him again one day. Day

Our great nation and the State of Texas has lost a true hero with the passing of John E. Hunt, Sr. During his life of service to others he was known by many titles such as Paratrooper, First Sergeant, Green Beret, Colonel, Chief of Police, Investigator and Special Deputy U.S. Marshal but the titles he was most proud of was Husband and Father. I was privileged to serve with John in many Law Enforcement and Military capacities and was always in awe of this competence, bearing, compassion and outstanding leadership ability. He lived a life of service to his country, family and those less fortunate than himself. He was the greatest man I ever knew and I fear we will never see his type again. Gods Speed My Friend John E. Hunt, Sr. John L. Moore
