Obituary For Johnny Besherse

- Graveside services for Johnny S. Besherse, 95, of Sherman who died, Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Wilson N Jones Regional Hospital in Sherman, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park , Sherman, Texas officiated by his son, Larry Besherse. Mr. Besherse was born November 4, 1920 the son of Henry H. and Hepsy Besherse in Tishomingo, OK. Mr. Besherse owned and operated Besherse Jewelers in downtown Denison for 27 years. He was a member of the Denison Lions Club for 15 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sherman, Texas. He was a 1939 graduate of Claypool High School in Claypool , Oklahoma. In 1948 he attended Hardin College in Wichita Falls and graduated with certificates in Watchmaking and Hand Engraving specialties. He proudly served in the United States Army, Medical Corp during WWII in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Henry H. and Hepsy Besherse, brothers, Haskel Besherse and Carl Besherse, Hazel Besherse, sisters Mellie McKay, Leola Jeter, Idella Wood and Freda Besherse. Surviving are his wife Elta Groce Besherse, sons, Larry Besherse, David Besherse, stepson, Danny Briery, step daughter, Karen Atchley, and Brenda Rogers and Grandchildren, Candace, Larry, Jr., Landon, and Bridget Besherse and Great Grandchildren, Sage Fuller, Riley and Slone Besherse.
