Obituary For Johnny Rodriguez

Johnny Rodriguez, 80, of Garland, TX, passed away on Nov. 26, 2020 in Rowlett, TX.

Funeral services will be held at Dannel Funeral Home Chapel, December 13th at 1:00PM.

Johnny was born in Farmersville, TX, to Juan and Brigida Rodriguez on Jan. 13, 1940. He graduated from Sherman High School. On March 29, 1968, he married Irene Albert in Palo Alto, CA. While serving in the U.S. Army he completed a 13-month tour in Korea. He worked as a Locomotive Engineer for MKT and Union Pacific Railroads for 21 years.

Johnny’s hobbies included playing his guitar and working on his home theater systems. He also enjoyed fishing and had a special fondness for ’57 Chevy cars. He loved his family very much. An animal lover, he owned and took care of many cats and dogs throughout his life.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Rodriguez, his parents Juan and Brigida Rodriguez, and two sisters Juanita Mexia and Elaine Rodriguez. Survivors include his son James Rodriguez and daughter Linda Rodriguez; also sisters: Mary Burns, Rose Bearden, Esther Farley, Mona Rodriguez, and brothers: Jesse and Joe Rodriguez. Also grandchildren Anthony and Abigail Coffman, and Alexis Dillard; and many nieces and nephews, as well as other extended family in Texas, California, Arizona, and Alaska.
