Obituary For Joy Lynn Vann

Joy Lynn (Baker) Vann, 75 of Sherman, TX passed away

peacefully May 27, 2022, in Dallas, TX. She was born July 21,

1946, in Ada, OK to Wesley and Rosie Baker. Joy grew up and

lived in Oklahoma the majority of her early life and raised her

cherished sons in Oklahoma City. She moved to Sherman, TX in

1991 and resided there until her passing. Joy is preceded in death

by her parents, husband Thomas Vann and six brothers; Randall,

Dyton, Wymon, Howard, Glen and Gene Baker. She is survived by

five sons; Rod (Laurie) of Edmond, Anthony (Helen) of Yukon,

Ronnie (Denise) of Guthrie, Warren of Sherman, and Bo (Jill) of

Guthrie; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Emily) Price, Courtney Price,

Heather (Andrew) Stafford, Whitney (JT) Price, Shalena (Arthur)

Price, Megan (Chance) Burton, and Peyton Price; eleven great

grandchildren; Addyson, Hudson, Landree, Weston, Kaden, Koby,

Kyler, Ashton, Luke, Rilynn, and Joel; one brother Roland (Linda)

Baker of Sparks. She is also survived by numerous nieces,

nephews, cousins and friends. Joy gave everything she did 110%

and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her family meant

the world to her, and she was so proud of each of them. She was a

lady of many talents including cake decorating, cooking, collecting

recipes, gardening, and loving her family, including her treasured

dachshund, Peanut. Her favorite pastime was spending time with

family, family reunions, holidays, playing zilch and of course, the

casino. Her passing leaves a huge void in our lives, however we

find comfort knowing she has gained pain free eternal life with

our Savior. Our family wants to extend a special “shout out” to her

son Warren, who lovingly took care of her every need for many

years. We are honored that her grandson by marriage, Andrew

Stafford, will officiate her celebration; such a special tribute to a

wonderful lady and a life well lived! Her final interment will be

next to her husband Tom in Sherman, TX at a later date. Well

done, good and faithful servant!
