Joyce Edwards Hill, longtime resident of Sherman, TX, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the age of 98. Her long life was a testament to her boundless energy, love, and devotion to those around her.

Among Joyce’s passions was a love of volunteerism, giving thousands of hours of her time over nearly 3 decades to the Women’s Auxiliary at Wilson N. Jones Hospital. Among her other interests were gardening, traveling, reading everything from novels to the New York Times, and enjoying live theatre from performances at Sherman’s Little Theater to seeing over 120 productions on Broadway.

Joyce is predeceased by husband Roland Hill, son Charles Alan Hill, parents Bennie and Pannie Edwards, sister Christine Coffey, and brothers Billy Ray Edwards and Benny Edwards.

Joyce is survived and celebrated by her children, son Dale Hill and Steve Frawley of Dallas, Texas, and her daughter Karen Hill and Karen Kovacevich of Galveston, Texas and by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held on Monday, February 2, at 11:00 am at the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel, 302 S. Walnut St., Sherman, TX 75090. Interment services will follow the service and take place at the Van Alstyne Cemetery, 460 S. Sherman St., Van Alstyne, TX 75495.
