Obituary For Judd Bell

Judd Harris Bell passed away peacefully February 9th at the Woodland Place in Denison. Judd is survived by his sons, Austin Bell and Harris Bell of Howe, sister Nancy Bell Mayo and brother-in-law Larry Mayo of Tyler, and brother David and sister-in-law Kathie Bell of Conyers, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Judd Bell and his mother Nancy Harris Bell of Sherman and his uncle Dr. Bob Harris of Kerrville. A 1965 graduate of Sherman High School, along with many of his best friends, Judd attended the University of Arkansas and received a BA degree in business administration from Austin College. His education in business and finance led him to a long career in banking in Texas. Judd later returned to Sherman to be close to his family and friends. There, his friendly personality and love of life enabled him to rekindle his lifelong friendships, many which began at Bryant School. He also renewed his love of wildlife. One of his favorite pastimes was to drive to Hagerman Wildlife Refuge to watch the birds and other animals in their natural habitat. Judd's family wishes to thank John Spears, Mary Pope, Lisbeth Rice, Basil DuLaney, Ben Mandeville, and Sherry Ketchum for their generous and loving support during his long illness. Also, a special thanks to Mike Sperry of Home Hospice in Sherman, who showed us the special value of that great organization, and Dr. J. Michael Benson for his care of Judd. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 W. Center, Sherman, Tx 75090 in lieu of flowers. A memorial service is planned at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11am, followed by a reception at the church. Pastor Lisa Perkins of Covenant Presbyterian will officiate. Interment will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton.
