Obituary For Karen Ratchford Page
Karen Ratchford Page, 77, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 1, after a long battle with Parkinson's and Dementia.
Karen was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a kind, caring, and generous woman whose quiet nature, intelligence, and love for her family were just a few of the qualities that made her so special.
Originally from Lake George, New York, Karen later moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where she met and married Aubrey Gene Page. The couple celebrated 55 years of marriage on February 20, 2026. They eventually settled in Sherman, Texas, where they built their life and raised their family. After retirement, Karen and Gene enjoyed traveling together in their motorhome, exploring new places and making special memories along the way. Especially memorable was their Alaska trip in 2015.
Karen graduated from University of Texas at Dallas Business College. She dedicated many years of her professional life to working as a tax and bookkeeping professional. She owned and operated Page Business Services for almost 20 years. She was an intelligent, hardworking woman who took pride in her work and the knowledge she shared with others.
Karen had a passion for gardening and was both a Master Gardener and a Rosarian. She worked weekly for years maintaining the plants at Eisenhower's birthplace. She found great joy in tending to her gardens, especially her roses. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, Gizmo and Molly, who brought her so much happiness throughout their lives.
Above all, Karen loved her family. Although quiet and reserved by nature, she had a giving heart and a gentle way of showing those around her how much they meant to her. Her kindness, generosity, and devotion to her loved ones will always be remembered.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Aubrey Gene Page; her sons, Kevin Page and wife Suzanne, and Brian Page and wife Joelle; her grandchildren, Peyton, Conner, Makenzie, and Brooke.
Karen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the love she shared with her family will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Rosalind and Paul Ratchford.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 5, at 10:00 AM at Friendship cemetery in Sherman, Texas.
