Send Flowers Kay Calhoun Smith February 25, 1940 - January 19, 2014 Kay Smith, age 73, passed away on January 19, 2014. She was born on February 25, 1940 to E. B. and Nolene Chapman in Sherman, Texas. She was raised in Sherman, and graduated from Sherman High School in 1958 and from the University of Texas in 1962. She was married to her husband of 22 years, Sid, on March 28, 1992. Kay was a wonderful housewife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Kay enjoyed participation in Sherman Service League, Needlework Guild, Current Review Book Club and Bridge Clubs. She was loving, caring, always willing to help others, courageous, and always had a positive attitude. She is preceded in death by her parents, E. B. and Nolene Chapman. Kay is survived by her husband, Sid Smith; daughter, Jill (Toby) Knocke; son, Craig (Tina) Calhoun; sister, Patti (Ellis) Olmstead; grandchildren, Madison, Connor, Lilly, Ford; niece, Kay Ellen Kirby; nephews, Andy and Lee Olmstead; pets, Molly and Grand Dog Lexi. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25th at West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Randy Reddell of Central Christian Church of Sherman officiating.
