Obituary For Kevin Andre' Tindell

Kevin Andre’ Tindell, 61, of Sherman, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 10:00 AM at New Heritage Baptist Church in Sherman. Pastor Rob Shepherd will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Friendship Cemetery in Sherman. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, March 2, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman.

Kevin was born on September 25, 1960 in Sherman, Texas to Curtis Woodrow and Lela Cordell Tindell. Because of his father’s military service in the Air Force, the family moved to many places in the United States. Kevin worked for Nichols Olds in Enterprise, Alabama, as well as the Toyota dealership in Enterprise. Kevin served in the United States Army and the Alabama National Guard from 1979 until 1985. He worked for the Enterprise Police Reserve until he moved to Sherman in 1986. He began working at Kaiser Aluminum in 1987 and worked for 12 years. He married the love of his life, Carla Louann Rickerson, on May 30, 1993, in Sherman and they enjoyed 28 years of marriage.

Kevin was a member of the Enterprise JayCees for many years and received many awards for his dedication. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and had a deep passion for dirt track racing. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will greatly missed by his family and by all who knew him.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Curtis, his mother Lela Cordell Tindell Williams, and his sister Carolyn Tindell. He is survived by his wife, Carla Tindell; 4 children: Robert Tindell and wife Jenifer, Karie Tindell, Jason Tindell, and Karl Tindell and girlfriend Elise House; 2 brothers: Richard Tindell and wife Sandra, and Joe Guyette; 6 sisters: Ronzanna Tindell Williams and husband Stanley, Sheila Tindell Redman, Vicki Guyette Jackson and husband Dave, Ernie Guyette, Nettie Guyette, and Robin Guyette; 6 grandchildren: Destiny, Modesty, Kee’Andre, Ja’Kyria, Ethan, and Asa; 4 great-grandchildren: Ky’za, Kacyn, Kynnedy, and Giovanni; and many nieces, nephews, and close cousins.

Pallbearers for Kevin will be James Cordell, JJ Semidey, Donny Pierce, Jason Hoskins, Mark Armstrong, and Chris Carsten. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Cordell, Kenneth Cordell, and Tim Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Heritage Baptist Church in Kevin’s name.
