Obituary For Larry Busby
Larry L. Busby 70 of Sherman passed away at Texoma Medical Center on Thursday Oct. 20 2011. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday Oct. 25 at 2p.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Skiatook OK. Pastor Leland Samuelson will officiate. The family will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. Larry was born in Skiatook on Aug. 27 1941 to Roy Evans and Viola (Redman) Busby. He was educated in the public schools of Skiatook. He entered the US Army and served in Germany and Viet Nam where he was injured. He was a proud member of the Osage and Cherokee tribes. His aunt was a princess of the Osage tribe. Hunting and fishing were his hobbies and he especially enjoyed hunting wild hogs with the meat being processed and sent overseas. He also liked to fish at Lake Texoma and accumulated many fishing poles during his life. Larry was preceded in death by his parents a daughter Dorothy and a grandson Larry James. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou, a son Roy Lee Busby and family of Kansas, a sister Lovena Embrey and husband Bob of Skiatook, an aunt and uncle Thelma Inman and husband Ira of Sherman, sisters-in-law Martha Medrano and Kathy Thurman of Sherman, cousins Bernard and Shirley Fortin of Sherman.
