Larry Dean Cathey 54 passed away on May 7 2011 at his residence in Sherman. Dannel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services will be held Tuesday May 10 2011 at 2:30 at West Hill Cemetery. Pastor Matt Ward of First Baptist Church of Melissa will officiate. Larry was born February 28 1957 in Sherman Texas to Dean and Wanda (Compton) Cathey. He grew up in Dallas and Sherman and he graduated from Sherman High School in 1975.He also graduated from Grayson County College. On November 26 1977 in Denton Texas Larry married Cinda June Rose. Larry is survived by his parents Dean and Wanda (Compton) Cathey of Sherman TX, wife Cinda two sons Kiel Cathey and wife Ashley of Melissa TX Colton Cathey of Sherman, Father-in-law Henry Lee Powell of Plano TX, Sister-in-laws: Nancy Hutchins and husband Tommy of Sherman and Luan Land and husband Kerry of Lovelady TX, Brother-in-law David Neilon and wife Elaine of Porter TX. Nieces and Nephew: Jennifer and Tristan Williams and their daughters McKinley Emma and son Brennan, Jason and Ashley Glover and daughter Avery, Amber Head, Stephanie and Cody Seale and daughters McKinzie and Rylie, Sarah and Jayme Little and daughter Ella. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents Fritz and Pauline Compton and J.N. and Beulah Cathey,. Mother-in-law Sally Rose Powell and Father-in-law Bill Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Townsend Jeff Smart Kevin Smith Gary Smith Leon Jones and Bobby Lytton.
