Larry J. Rowen passed away from this world on November 18, 2023, in Bonham, Texas. Larry was born to Lena Mae Rash and Solan Lincoln Rash in Union, Iowa on February 13, 1932.

Larry served in the United States Air Force for 13 years. He retired from Good Year after working for them many years. He also worked for American General Life and Accident Company where he received many awards for excellent service to companies and clients.

Larry married Laverne Agee on January 5, 1974. At the time Larry had three children, Stephen, James, and Shelia. Laverne had seven children, John, Ronald, Judy, Gary, Steve, Debbie, and James.

Larry and Laverne loved dancing at the VFW and were there every Saturday night for years. Together they purchased a motorcycle, and Larry would comment, traveled all 48 states. They later purchased a motor home and would stay gone for months at a time traveling the roads.

Larry lost his greatest companion and the love of his life Laverne on January 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by his son, James.

His family wishes to thank all the caregivers, Ashley Waiwaiole from CLC Denison, Texas and Kayla Calaway from the V.A. in Bonham, Texas.

A family graveside service will be held at West Hill Cemetery on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Where he will lie again, next to the love of his life, Laverne.
