Larry Joseph Walter Brown, age 75, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on February 2, 2026, in Sherman, Texas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 11, from 5:00–7:00 PM, at Dannel Funeral Home, Sherman, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, at 10:00 AM, at Calvary Baptist Church, Denison, Texas. Pastor Steve Rice of the church will officiate. Burial will follow at Akers Cemetery, Sherman, Texas.

Larry was born in Sherman, Texas, to Francis Marion Brown and Euphia Nell (Good) Brown on December 5, 1950. He attended Apostolic Bible Institute and St. Mary’s University. He served as a pastor, helping to start Faith Bible Church in Hastings, Minnesota. In his later years, he was active at Calvary Baptist Church in Denison, Texas. Larry also worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor at Texoma Community Center, where he helped many people with compassion and care.

Larry was a loving, gracious man whose life was marked by service. As a pastor and therapist, he ministered to and counseled thousands, walking with people through seasons of joy, struggle, and healing. He loved God, loved his family deeply, and believed that faith expressed through compassion could change lives. His impact will be felt for generations.

And Larry was a gifted musician — a singer, guitarist, and trumpeter. Music wasn’t just something he did; it was something he used to connect, to worship, and to bring beauty into the world. Whether through a song, a conversation, or a moment of prayer, Larry had a way of reaching people’s hearts.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Marion Brown and Euphia Nell (Good) Brown, and by his brother, David Kenneth Brown.

Larry is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mary Louise Brown; 4 children: Robert Brown, Jennifer Castillo, Andrew Brown, and Christopher Brown; 2 step children: Jeremiah Current and wife Denise, and Michelle Roper and husband Tra Nichols; his siblings: Donald Theodore Brown and wife Joan, Rex Lee Brown, Sr. and wife Rebekka, Phillip Michael Brown and wife Pam, Patricia Cernero and husband Johnny, Mark Randall Brown and wife Tonya, and Priscilla L. Brown James and husband Gary; his grandchildren:
Through Robert: Zachary Brown, Savannah Brown, Caleb Brown, and Asher Brown;
Through Jennifer: Alyssa Nygaard, Jordan Castillo, Tristan Castillo, Mathew Castillo, Mazie Castillo, Ella Castillo, Aarao Castillo, and Augustine Castillo;
Through Andrew: Axel Brown, Miracle Brown, Evangeline Brown, Aila Brown, Esmond Brown, Genesis Brown, and Ellianna Brown;
Through Jeremiah: Ocean Current, and Norah Current; Through Michelle: Madison Roper, and Lennon Nichols
and his great-grandchildren: Aubree Brown, Theodora Castillo, David Castillo, Albino Castillo, Mercea Castillo, Julius Castillo, Lucius Castillo, Vincent Castillo, Veda Lou Castillo, and Kairus Love Castillo.

Pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Andrew Brown, Christopher Brown, Gary James, Jeremiah Current, and Madison Roper.
In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Denison.
