Obituary For Leah Rochelle Thedford
Leah Thedford, 39, of Sherman, TX, passed away after a short unexpected illness on September 17, 2018 in McKinney, Texas.
Visitation will be Saturday September 22 at 9:00AM at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, September 22 at Dannel Funeral Home with the Reverend Roy Spore of Friendship Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by Dannel Funeral Home.
Leah Thedford was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Peggy and Terry Thedford on May 15, 1979. She graduated from S &S Consolidated High School in 1997. She graduated from Texas A&M Commerce in 2001 with Bachelor Degrees in finance and Management Information Systems. Leah spent countless hours as a volunteer with NAMI Dallas. Leah chose this organization to do everything she could to help others who faced challenges similar to her own. Over the last 15 years she held positions such as NAMI Peer Council National President, NAMI Peer Council State President, and Peer to Peer NAMI Facilitator. She enjoyed movies of all kinds, painting, and arts and crafts. She loved spending time with friends and family. She is also quite possibly the only person to lose more than 60 pounds without eating a single vegetable in the entire history of the Weight Watchers Program.
Leah is preceded in death by her father Terry Thedford, and grandparents Paul Mumma, Margaret Mumma, J.C. Thedford.
Leah is survived by brothers Aaron Thedford (Lindsay Stevens) and Zach Thedford (Rebecca Lemus Thedford), mother Peggy Thedford, grandmother Dorothy Thedford, niece Ava Thedford, nephew Jackson Shoalwater and sweet cat, kitty.
Memorials may be given to NAMI Dallas, Friendship Church or charity of the donor’s choice.
