Obituary For Lela Sutherland

Lela M. Sutherland went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, August 20, 2016 at her residence in Denison surrounded by her loving family. Lela was born April 1, 1927, one of four children born to Carrie Reid and John Brown. She married Clyde Sutherland in Sherman, Texas on December 23, 1959. She was a Homemaker and retired from the Diaper Jean Company in Denison after many years of service. She was a loving Mother, Granny, and Aunt who was dedicated to caring for her family. She was a fifth generation Grandmother who loved her grandchildren very much. She was a member of the River of Life Church in Denison. She loved and enjoyed serving in the Church, gospel music and Bible studies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie and John Brown; husband, Clyde Sutherland; brother, Albert Purcell Brown, Sr.; sisters, Mary Catherine Martin and Johnnie Mae Thompson and one grandchild. Mrs. Sutherland is survived by her son, James Eddins and wife Candy of Whitewright, TX; daughters, Alivia Davis of Sherman, TX; Cathie Johnson and husband, Bobby of Denison, TX; 4 Grandchildren; 9 Great –Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Please join us to celebrate the life of our beloved Lela. Family night will be held at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on August 23, 2016. Funeral services will be held at River of Life Church in Dension at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2016, officiated by Bro. Raymond England of Trinity Lighthouse Church. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas. Pallbearers will be Great-Grandchildren, O.T. Mitchell, Joshua Parks, Cody Parks, Devin Mitchell, Luke Havens, and Colton Mitchell. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be James Eddins, Bobby Johnson and T. J. Ratliff. Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home, Sherman, Texas.
