Obituary For Leo B. Wall

Leo B. Wall, formerly of Fredericksburg, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025 in Denison. A celebration of Leo’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Celebration Senior Living in Denison, Texas at 2:00 PM. Pastor Leland Samuelson will officiate.

Leo and his twin brother, Leon D. Wall, were born on January 8, 1935, in Mcleod, Texas. Leo was an insurance broker for over 46 years. He joined the Texas National Guard at 16 and served for 11 years. Mr. Wall graduated from Texas A & M – Commerce and he received the CLU and ChFC designations from the American College.

Church and community service was a way of life for Mr. Wall. While a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Longview, Texas, he served on the church vestry, taught a bible class, was director of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew, conducted Children’s Chapel for 14 years and received the Michael Macey parishioner of the year award. Later, Mr. Wall became a member of the First Baptist Church in Fredericksburg where he served as Sunday School superintendent, bible study group leader and was involved in church growth and outreach programs.

Mr. Wall was actively involved in his community. He was chairman of Leadership Longview for 7 years. Also, he was president of the following organizations: Longview Rotary, Paul Harris Fellow, Longview Chamber of Commerce, East Texas Sales Executives, Crime Stoppers of Gregg County, Oil Belt Association and Heritage Hill Country Home Owners Association. While a member of the Optimist Club in Monroe, LA, he was awarded both the Distinguished International President Award and also the Outstanding President in the state of Louisiana. Later he served as Lt. Governor in LA for the Optimist Club. Last he was president of his college fraternity.

Leo was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Belle and father John Turner Wall, also brothers Leon D. and Casey Wall. He is survived by wife Sandra Wall; children: Julia Ann Nichols and husband Michael, Lee Barclay, and Whitney Wall; stepchildren: Kyle Shaw and wife Katrina and Kim DeVaney and husband Mark and 5 grandchildren.
