Leon Willard Jones, 84, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on January 19, 2021 in Sherman, Texas.

Graveside will be 11:00 AM, February 6, 2021 at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, Texas.

Leon was born in Santa Monica, CA to Willard Elbert Jones and Edna Mae Freshwater on September 9, 1936.

Leon had lots of excitement in his life, from being on a television show to being in a movie. He met John Wayne and several other celebrities when he lived in California. He traveled many states and took different jobs along the way. He moved to Sherman in the early 90’s and worked for Archie Olivier at LaminArchie Inc.

Leon loved history and spent a lot of time researching WWII and at one time he collected Germany memorabilia. He loved to work with his hands building models, belt buckles and hand made wooden crosses among other things. He could fix anything from cars to a leaking faucet. He had a knack of being very precise in everything he did. If the weather was good you could always find him in his shop working on different projects and making sure everything was organized. He was always there to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Leon is preceded in death by parents.
