Obituaries

Lila M. Shugart, 89, of Sherman, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8th, at West Sherman Baptist Church in Sherman, with family visitation beginning one hour prior to service. Pastor Danny Wood will officiate. Interment will follow immediately afterward in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Lila was born December 9, 1925, in Anna, Texas, to W.B. Bell and Nola Mae Bailey Bell. She graduated from Dorchester High School in 1943. She worked for Johnson & Johnson, and also for Sherman ISD. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Douglas Shugart, grandson Michael (Scott) Shugart, sisters, Dorothy Mullins, Peggy Bury and Billie Jean Souther. Survivors include her son Danny Shugart and wife Melva, of Lake Fork, TX; brother, Bobby Bell; sisters, Francis Akin and husband Donnie, and Ila Welch; grandchildren: Shelly McQueen and husband Jeff, and Brian Shugart and wife Amy; six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
