Obituary For Lloyd Inman
Lloyd Nelson Inman, 91, of Sherman, passed away early Monday, June 22, 2015, at The Homestead of Sherman. Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23rd, at Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24th in Dannel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Johnson, of First Assembly of God, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Lloyd was born September 12, 1923, in Sherman, TX, to Charlie and Rose Garrett Inman. He became a Christian at a young age, and was a charter member of Central Baptist Church in Sherman - which later became Grayson Bible Baptist Church. He married Vida Bassham, in Sherman in March of 1943. After the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941, Lloyd enlisted in to United States Army. He served throughout the Pacific Theatre of World War II, and made 5 beach heads in the Pacific. When his tour of duty was completed, he returned home to his bride in Sherman. He began working with Texas Power & Light, and eventually founded and operated Inman Electric supply company. Lloyd loved his family, and his church family. It was very evident Lloyd enjoyed a deep, loving relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He influenced many lives, both as an employer and friend. He is now at rest in his heavenly home - completely healed - reunited with his bride, his son, countless family members and friends. Most importantly, he is forever in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 58 years, Vida; his son, David; one brother who died in infancy; his sister, Gertrude Myles; and one brother, Leslie Inman. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Inman McVey and husband David; brothers, Ira Inman, and wife Thelma, and Vernon Inman, and wife Annette; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He also leaves one very special 'adopted' son, Bobby Richardson. The family wishes to express the sincere thanks to the entire staff of The Homestead of Sherman, and to the staff of Guardian Hospice, for their diligent care of Mr. Inman.
