Lois Gotcher 88 of Sherman Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 3 2012 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman Texas. A graveside service will be conducted by Reverend Leland Samuelson on Monday May 7 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Georgetown Cemetery Cemetery Road Pottsboro Texas. Family visitation will be Sunday May 6 2012 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home Sherman Texas. The memory of her beauty gifted artistic abilities the best homemade pies and giving spirit will always be remembered. Lois was a loving wife mother grandmother and great-grandmother who devoted her entire life to her family. Lois was born April 14 1924 in the Delaware Bend Community in Grayson County Texas to Louis and Susie Sikes Riddle who preceded her in death. She married John William Gotcher on December 28 1941 shortly before her husband left to serve our country in the European theater during World War II. While her husband served in the U. S. Navy Lois worked as a true, "Rosie the Riveter" assembling aircraft. Upon his return the Gotcher"¢s made their home in Sherman Texas where they established Economy Motors. Lois is survived by her loving husband John and their children Vick Lynn Gotcher and his companion Jan Porter of Carrollton Leslie Walsh and her husband Neil of Lewisville John Gotcher and his wife Holly of Greenville Gloria Brooks and her husband Keith of Sherman, her beloved grandchildren Stacey Reinken and husband Derrick of Frisco Vicki Gotcher and husband Scott Gerhard of Alexandria Virginia Sean Pritchett and wife Dawn of Austin John Andrew Gotcher and wife Valerie of Prosper Beau Brooks and wife Amy of Cleburne, her adored great-grandchildren Jordan Reinken Ava Reinken Kyle Reinken Luke Pritchett Sarah Pritchett Avery Gotcher and Evan Gotcher, brother Ben Riddle of Whitesboro and sisters Gladys Brooks of Sherman and Julia Knox of Grand Prairie, she was preceded in death by brothers Tommy Riddle and Lee Riddle and two sisters Evelyn Martin and Edna Didonna. Lois was of the Baptist faith and loved her Lord and Savior. She was an esteemed member of the International Porcelain Artists"¢ Society and shared her talent by teaching others the art of china painting as well as gifting her works of art. Lois"¢ memory will live on not only through her family but through her God-given talent to lift the human spirit through her works of art.
