Services for Lois Jean Grigg 86 of Sherman who passed away at Texas Health Presbyterian WNJ early Saturday morning July 14 2012 will be held on Tuesday Morning July 17 2012 11:00 a.m. at Central Christian Church with Rev. Randy Reddell of the church officiating. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery. The family will be at Dannel Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Jean was born January 1 1926 in Sherman Texas the daughter of Clyde Brown and Irene Powell Brown. She was the first baby born in Grayson county in 1926 and received numerous gifts including a baby diamond ring and a year"¢s subscription to the "Sherman Democrat." On October 7 1944 she married Jodie Lee Grigg and their life together began. Jean and Jodie had five children. Jean was preceded in death by Jodie on February 3 2004. Jean a lifetime resident of Sherman was very active in many areas of the community such as PTA Campfire Girls and Boy Scouts. She also served on the Boards of Central Christian Church and Frontier Village and was a long time member of the Four Seasons Garden Club. Her greatest passion however was gardening and rescuing "flowers." Last but not least she will always be remembered by many as the "Gate Keeper of the Patio!" She Leaves behind daughters Renee Grigg Sandy Gooden and husband Pat Dianne Livingston and husband John Tammie Wible and husband Ken, son John Grigg and wife Sherrie 12 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, sisters: Nelda Brown of Irving and Judy Raynes and husband George of Houston , sister- in-law Dorothy Brown of Sherman and many nieces and nephews and her best friend "Buddy Dog"". Pallbearers will be her grandsons Sam Knight Jake Knight Shane Gooden Jeff Gooden Chad Bentley and Jodie Bentley. If desired memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County 505 W.
