Obituary For Lois Groce

, Lois M. Groce, 94, of Sherman, passed away on Sunday, May 1 2016, in Sherman, Texas after an extended illness. She was dearly loved and will be missed by many. Family visitation will be held 6:00PM, Wednesday, May 4th, at Dannel Funeral Home, in Sherman. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM, Thursday, May 5th, at Dannel Funeral Home with Brother Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church and Wayne Knight officiating.Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. Lois was born in North Texas to William N. and Venie Buchanan Hamilton on December 5th, 1921. She married Charles "Pete" Groce on September 22nd. 1940, in Sherman, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and one sister. Lois is survived by her niece Carolyn Threadgill and nephew Mike Loyd, whom she and Pete raised as their own children, one sister, Ruth Morgan of Kingsland TX, four Grandchildren Michael Threadgill of Missouri City, Jennifer Durham of Sherman, John Loyd of Royce City, David Loyd of Keller, three great­ Grandchildren, Grace Threadgill, Ashleigh Durham, Zachary Threadgill, and numerous other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Homestead of Sherman and Heart to Heart Hospice. Arramgements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
