Obituary For Lynda Carol Crockett
Lynda Crockett, 83, of Sherman, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2025, as the Lord called her to heaven to claim her wings.
She was born in Miller Grove, Texas on February 23, 1942 to Ralph and Lorene Waskom. Lynda graduated from Miller Grove High School.
In 1987, she married James “Jack” Crockett, and together they shared many happy years. They especially enjoyed going on vacations in their early years together, creating memories that lasted a lifetime.
Lynda was an independent lady who lived on her own terms. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a spirited personality and was quite the character—one of the many reasons she was loved so dearly by all who knew her. She also treasured the friendship and care of her wonderful neighbors, who always kept an extra eye on her.
Lynda loved watching her Dallas Cowboys football .
She is survived by her daughters Jamie Swindle & husband Michael. and Kim Miller Fox ; grandchildren Justin Scott, Cody Bessonett, Paul Ridgedell, Jason Shakelford, Daniel Shakelford, Kayla Berkvens, Nathan Petty, and Colyn Fulmer; as well as many great-grandchildren.
Lynda is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, James “Jack” Crockett, and her daughters Deanna Morford and Kay Blanton and her mother Lorene Waskom & Brother Sammy Waskom.
Her love, laughter, hardheadedness and strength will be deeply missed, but remembered forever.
