Obituary For Manuel Humberto Diaz

Manuel Humberto Diaz, 80 years old of Sherman Texas passed away on March 13th, 2024.

Manuel was born on November 29, 1943, in Atongo Nuevo Leon Mexico. He attended Edinburg High School and served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. After working at various vocations, he found the job that fulfilled his passion for 30+ years with Proctor and Gamble. He retired from Proctor and Gamble in 2003.

He married his lovely wife Laura Sue Baker on July 1, 1995. They were happily married for 27 years. Manuel enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, ranching, raising cattle and riding horses. He was a very talented singer and enjoyed Karaoke. He also loved to restore old Chevy pickups.

Manuel and Laura shared five beautiful children: Edward Diaz (Patty), Dalinda Diaz Montes (David), Michael Diaz (Holley), Sarah Hendricks (Shawn), Casey O’Connor and wife Amy, and a total of 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition, survivors include two Brothers: Ruben Diaz and wife Mary and Roberto Diaz and wife Rosie,and two sisters: Maria Guadalupe Cano and Maria Elva Diaz Garcia (Juan)

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sherman, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held on Wednesday, March 20, at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends on Monday, March 18, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dannel Funeral Home.
