Marcus John McGovern, age 56 of Denton, Texas passed away on 4 May 2024 at the home of his parents in Honey Grove, Texas.

A celebration of Marc’s life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, 4501 Teasley Ln in Denton, TX on Monday the 13 of May at 5pm. We invite all who know and love Marcus to attend.

The family will be holding a private burial service on the 12th of May 2024.

Marcus John McGovern was born 10th of January 1968 in Fort Rucker, Alabama to Raymond Joseph McGovern and Kathy Elaine Harding McGovern. Marcus graduated from Lewisville High School’s self-contained classroom in 1990. After graduating Marcus lived in a few group homes until he entered The Denton State Supported Living Center in Denton, Texas in 1999. Marcus loved life; He also loved family, friends, music, motorcycles, books, animals and babies.

He is survived by his parents Raymond Joseph McGovern and Kathy Elaine Harding McGovern. Also his sister Maria Len McGovern Sievert and her husband Barry James Sievert; brothers Joseph Nathan McGovern and his wife Ginger Kay Anderson McGovern, Benjamin J McGovern and his wife Rachel Irene Dahle McGovern, Samuel Adam McGovern and his wife Kimberly Kristin Eadie McGovern, Matthew Todd McGovern and his wife Julie Michelle Veal McGovern, and James Andrew McGovern and his wife Monica Esquivel Santos McGovern. He Has 22 nieces and nephews.
