Obituary For Margaret May Reppond

Margaret May “Maggie” Reppond, 100, of Frisco, formerly of Sherman, Texas, met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Jeremy Moore of Community Bible Fellowship in Howe, Texas will officiate. Interment will follow the service at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Dannel Funeral Home.

Maggie was born on May 12, 1921 in Norman, Oklahoma to Orville Guy and Viola Bell Conner. Her family owned grocery stores and they were very successful until the Great Depression. Guy’s generosity and his caring nature along with the depression led to the demise of his stores. The family moved to California and they worked in the mining industry. She eventually moved back to Norman, Oklahoma where she married the love of her life, George W. Reppond on October 18, 1941. She and her husband three children: Janet Lee, Sherry Beth, and Gary Dean. After George returned from WWII, they relocated in Whitesboro and eventually moved to Sherman. Maggie worked for Hardwick Etter Hardware Company and then she began working at JC Penny’s where she retired after 35 years. She then went to work at her church Fairview Baptist as the secretary for 22 years. In 2008 she retired because of her health even though her mind was still sharp and lived with her daughter, Jan in Frisco until her passing.

Maggie was a lover of Jesus Christ and Oklahoma! She loved to talk about both. She took a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 1984 which moved her profoundly and she always shared her experiences until recently. Her family and her grandkids especially were her heart and soul. If she could be on a ballfield or in the stands watching her grandbabies that’s where she wanted to be. She celebrated every birthday and never missed a chance to let her family know she loved them. Maggie loved to play games like Bingo, Solitare, or Train and she loved watching game shows on TV which is why her mind stayed so sharp. Maggie will be greatly missed by her family, her church, and her friends.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Sherry, her granddaughter, Leigh Ann, her grandson, Dwayne, her son in law, CW, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Alexander of Frisco, TX, and her son Gary Dean of Van Alstyne; granddaughter, Priscilla Lankford and husband Jason of Howe, TX; 4 great grandchildren: Kristina, Gracie, Garren, and Braydon; 2 great great grandchildren: Lilah and Presley; many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers for Maggie will be Jason Lankford, Garren Lankford, Arthur Ortega, James Fore, Layton Prestage, and David Alexander.

I knew Maggie from our time in the singles class, (late 70's, early 80's) at Fairview Baptist church. There were so many people at Fairview who loved Maggie very much. I am definitely one of those people. I truly enjoyed all of the pictures, especially the ones showing her being very active. She loved our camping trips and especially the trips to a conference that was held annually. I am now almost 79 years young, so I can't remember the name. I believe it was in New Mexico. It was always spiritually enriching and a lot of fun. I believe that God had me find this obituary today. I was looking for someone else when I saw Maggie. Just about the time of her passing, I was thinking of her. My thought was that she would have passed long ago. I am so pleased to see that she lived such an active, full life. It has truly been a blessing finding Maggie again, and having been a part of her journey. Love, prayers and blessings to her family who have shown in these pictures how much they loved her. Gary and family, I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I have good memories of us growing up on Shannon and all our times playing football and baseball at the church field.

I am sure sorry to hear of this. Maggie was such a nice lady, and leaves us with many nice memories. All are in my prayers.
