Obituary For Marilyn Sanders

Marilyn Ellis Sanders, 68, of Sherman, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018, after battling cancer for many years. A Celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, 4:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 322 W. Pecan, Sherman, Texas 75090. There will be a reception following the service. Honorary pallbearers will be John Ellis III, Benjamin Ellis, Thomas Ellis, David Stone, Zach Sanders, Don Merriman, Jay Stephens, Jerry Russell, and Annie Kramer. Marilyn will be remembered for her love of family, friends, colleagues and especially the two most important things, animals and her love for real estate. Dannel Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Marilyn Sanders has been a REALTOR® for over 27 years and part of the Ebby Halliday, Realtors family as a full time REALTOR® for 20 years. Through her time with Ebby Halliday, Realtors she has played an important role of the Ebby Team with her experience, her wit and her determination to work hard for her clients to her last day with us. Marilyn has won numerous awards through her tenure with the Ebby Sherman office as Star Achiever, Diamond Circle Member, Top Producer and Top Listing agent for many years. Marilyn would say “Finding a home is pretty easy for nature's creatures! For us, it's a lot more complicated. If you are thinking about buying a home or selling your current one, let my expertise and experience help you.” Marilyn loved being outside with her clients walking and learning about the land in the surrounding counties and was referred to in the office as “The Land Lady” when we had any questions about land. Marilyn will be missed by her Ebby Family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Archie Sanders of Sherman; 3 sons: John Wharton Ellis III of Little Rock, Arkansas, Benjamin Tisdale Ellis and wife Elaine of Tynemouth, England, and Thomas King Ellis of Sherman; 2 step children: Zach Sanders and wife Gina of Eagle, Alaska, and Lisa Elpren and husband Russ of Germantown, Maryland; 6 grandchildren: Jake, Tucker and Reagan Ellis, Rebekah and Logan Ellis, and Juniper Elpren; as well as 6 rescue dogs, 40 chickens, 69 cows, 3 mules and 2 horses. She was preceded in death by her parents Preston Tisdale and Joanna Evelyn Kaufmann. Marilyn wants to give back to the animals that have given so much unconditional friendship, happiness and love. In lieu of flowers, she would love if everyone would adopt a pet or donate to your local no kill shelter. (ARF House of Grayson County) You may sign the online guestbook at www.Dannelfuneralhome.com

I have such fond memories of this beautiful, loving authentic friend and colleague. Marilyn looked great in an evening gown, but loved her jeans the best! She loved the land and the land deals. But, she loved God and family the most. May our Lord comfort her family as He welcomes her home. ~ Deborah Duggan Cooke, McKinney, Texas

I extend my deepest condolences to your family. Over the 20+ I have been in the real estate business, Marilyn always treated me with courtesy and kindness. She and I would go months between contact and then have the most pleasant conversations, regardless of her own concerns. She will be remembered as a kind, loving, unselfish, and strong woman. I know she will be deeply missed. Prayers for peace and comfort for her family and dear friends at this time. ~ Janice Wade, Sherman, Texas
