Obituary For Marion Louise Reynoldson

Services for Marion Louise Reynoldson, 78, of Sherman, who passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman, will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Sherman at 10:00 AM. Rev. Joe Ed Goolsby will officiate. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. The family will greet friends on Sunday, May 5, at Dannel Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Pallbearers for Mrs. Reynoldson will be Andrew Reynoldson, Cameron Reynoldson, Scott Reynoldson, Brian Reynoldson, Jason Reynoldson, and Joe Reynoldson.

Marion was born on July 17, 1940 in Lyons, Nebraska, to Paul and Clara Moseman. The family moved to O’Neill, Nebraska, where she attended schools, graduating from high school in 1958. She graduated from Commercial Extension Business College in Omaha and continued to work there until she married Wayne Reynoldson in O’Neill in 1961. They had four children, Jan, Joan, David, and Amy and because of her husband’s job, the family moved often. They lived in several states including Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado, before retiring to Sherman, Texas.

Marion has always been an active member of the Methodist church. She taught Sunday school, bible classes and led youth fellowship. With her children, she was involved in 4H, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Camp Fire, Order of the Eastern Star and Job’s Daughters, and enjoyed being active in her grandchildren’s activities. With her husband, she was a member of Lion’s Club for over 30 years. Marion had a passion for genealogy and traced her family’s heritage back to Germany. She was very creative and loved to paint with many mediums and was also good at sewing, embroidery, and crafts. Marion enjoyed music and played the French horn in school and professionally. She also had an affinity for Siamese cats. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marion was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan, her parents, and her brother Paul Moseman, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her children: Jan Reynoldson and husband Domenico Rapiti of Assergi, Italy, David Reynoldson and wife Kathy of Round Rock, Texas, and Amy Barnard and husband John of Sherman; four grandchildren: Andrew Reynoldson, Cameron Reynoldson, Emily Schaffer, and Francesca Rapiti, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marion’s name to First United Methodist Church Sherman.

    I had the pleasure of growing up with her children and spent many years spending my afternoons and weekends at the Reynoldson household. Memories of that time are just of so much carefree fun and happiness filled with her kindnesss and creativeness. She just made life so much fun! There were so many of us that were blessed to have had her as a "neighborhood mom"!

    Marion was a incredible letter writer and it was one of many ways she stayed connected with people. I could always expect a letter for my birthday every July with the latest news. She was encouraging, supportive and loving. She was my father's baby sister, and he loved her dearly-- now they are reunited. Growing up we would visit Marion, Wayne and my cousins in O'Neill, Alliance, and Phillipsburg. Marion always had cats (some were personable Siamese and some were kind of scary). She and I shared the same affinity for felines. The last time I saw her we were hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park with Wayne. There was a moment when we had some time alone and she told me how proud my mom was of me. I told her I didn't understand why my mother didn't tell me this. Marion said it didn't matter because she told everyone else. This was the kind of person she was-- always trying to make a person feel loved. Yesterday I was looking for a picture of her as a child-- a picture my father kept for almost 70 years in his collection of photos. I finally found the photo of her with the family cat then saw a flash of red outside my window-- a cardinal. We exchanged glances and I knew she was okay. Rest in peace, Marion. Deepest sympathies to her family.

    My Aunt Marion, will be remembered by me for her many ways. She was so sweet, and endearing. Kind and so so caring ! She had a wonderful smile. She clearly doted on my cousins and Uncle Wayne. Another way I remember her is for her avid letter writing, as she would send hand written letters, many pages long I might add, almost weekly to my grandparents which were most often times shared with us. She wrote so well, and with such detail it was almost like being there. Miles did separate us, but when she and Uncle Wayne and my cousins would come for visits it was a special time to get together at Grandpa and Grandma Reynoldson's. We cousins would play and talk while the adults played cards. She will be missed, but lives through her family. I'm glad she was my aunt. So loving so caring, these are ways I'll remember her most.
