Mark Damon Stephens, age 48, passed away, Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Texoma Health Care, Sherman, Texas after complications from pneumonia. Mark was born on April 30, 1965 in Sherman, Texas to W.W. “Woody” Stephens and Carol Sue Bassham. Even as a very young child, Mark could make anyone laugh. He was kind and loving to everyone that knew him. Mark was always there for his loved ones whenever they needed him the most. Mark spent 16 years working for Libbey-Owens-Ford in Sherman, Texas. Music, writing, literature, movies, and dirt bike riding were the hobbies that kept him busy and happy throughout his life. He always enjoyed the times he spent with family and friends. In October of 2008, Mark suffered a traumatic brain injury after a dirt bike accident, which left him paralyzed. Mark touched the lives of many people who will never forget the memories they shared with him. He will certainly be missed. Mark is proceeded in death by his father, W.W. “Woody” Stephens. Mark is survived by his loving mother, Carol Musser and husband Wayne of Sherman; daughter, Victoria Nicole Stephens of McKinney and grandson, Oliver Minter; sister, Julie Stephens of Sherman, half-brother, Edward Stephens of Sherman, Sheila Kluss, mother of his child, niece Buffy Knight, nephew Leslie Knight, and several cousins. The family will receive friends at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas on Wednesday, February 19th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20th at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman with Dr. Eddy Johnson officiating.
