Obituary For Marshia Viola Popplewell
Marshia V Butler Popplewell, 80, of Sherman, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on January 24, 2022 in Sherman, Texas.
Celebration of Life will be held at11:30 am on Saturday January 29, 2022 at Post Oak Fellowship in Sherman, Texas with Dennis Noblett of Post Oak Fellowship, officiating.
Marshia was born in Pinesville, La to Edgar Thomas Butler and Vera Mae Greene Butler on October 5, 1941. She attended school in Grand Prairie, TX. She married Frederick Eastman Popplewell on August 4, 1956 in Grand Prairie, Tx. Marshia was a devoted and loving wife to Frederick who served and retired from the United States Coast Guard. Marshia loved her kids and grandkids along with her brothers and sisters. But most importantly she loved Jesus and trusted him fully. She wanted everyone to know that Jesus loved them and would even stop and pick them up sometimes if they needed a ride, had coffee with them and shared things with them of what God has done for her in her life and that Jesus loved them. Even leading them to the Lord at times. Later in life she took up photography and would go to nursing homes, Share Ministry, and etc, just to take pictures of those that needed to feel special. She loved the look on their faces when she returned the pictures to them. She received her Associates from Grayson County College. She worked in sales for Home Furniture for several years.
Marshia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frederick E, Popplewell, Sr, her son Frederick E. Popplewell, Jr and grandson, Christian M. Burdette along with brother Eddie Butler, sisters Nelda Leon, Mabeth Johnson, and Mona Rae Marsden.
Marshia is survived by a son James R Popplewell of Sherman, daughters Sharon West and husband Carl of Wolfe City, Janet LaFoy and husband Dale of Sherman , sister Renee Wade and husband Dennis of Sherman, and brother Bobby Butler and wife Linda of Shreveport, La
Grandchildren Jessica McCune and husband Andy, Joseph Davis, Savanah Quermorllue, husband Alex, Kara Taylor husband Nick, and Calin Oliveria and husband Jason, Brittany Edwards and husband Marcus,Kolton Jeffries, Franki Guess and husband Joey, and Liana LaFoy.
Great-Grandchildren, Clayton and Payton McCune, Destinee, Joseph Jr, and Timothy Davis, Desire Vertz, Sienna and Alannah Quermorllue, Lily Edwards, Annabelle and Allie Van Lydegraf, and Beckett Guess.
