Obituary For Martha Jeanne Sisemore

Martha Jeanne Sisemore, age 76, of Sherman, Texas passed away peacefully after a brief illness with cancer in her home with her family by her side on May 24, 2021.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 4th at 10 a.m. at Grayson Bible Baptist Church located at 4400 US-82, Sherman, Texas 75090. Pastor Roy Webster (Grayson Bible Baptist Church) and Pastor George Cline (Grace Bible Church) will be officiating. A private family burial will follow. Arrangements are being handled by Dannel Funeral Home.

Jeanne was born on October 14, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to Lois Jean Elmore Smith. Jeanne was raised in Southmayd, Texas and graduated from S&S High school. Jeanne met the love of her life Lindol Houston Sisemore at 14 years of age and they married three years later on November 23, 1961. They were married 45 years before Len passed away on May 22, 2007. She spent every day missing him and thinking about the day she would get to see him again. He was the only man she ever dated and loved with her whole heart. We are so thankful they are back together again.

Jeanne worked at Jack & Jen daycare for many years and took care of so many, but her favorite job was being a mom and housewife to her boys and husband. She was truly the best mom that ever walked this earth and loved her family with everything she had. She was also known as one of the favorite neighborhood moms on Ricketts street and everyone was welcome in their home. She was well known in Sherman, mainly because she never met a stranger. If you knew her, then you most likely received a gift on your door step with no name on it, sometimes more than once. Her joy was doing for others and making people laugh. She was a hoot and she could light up any room or situation. Most who knew her had a new middle name that she made up specifically for that person.

Jeanne was a true Christian. She had formerly attended and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church for over 40 years where she worked in the nursery and also helped with all of the widows luncheons. She was very active in the nursing home ministry, faithfully helping with Sunday services and always taking time to visit with the residents. She was currently attending Grayson Bible Baptist Church in Sherman. She absolutely loved doing water aerobics and loved her water aerobic family at Nautilus in Sherman, Texas. She loved taking trips to Beavers Bend and the girls that worked there loved when she came. They always had a room reserved close by so they could keep an eye on her. She also loved her Branson trips with her Fairview Church group. She loved spending time with her daughter in law Carrie and she loved her grands, as she called them, and made sure to attend all of their events to root them on. She adored her great-nieces and nephews and they adored her. She was just so much fun! There will never be another like her.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband (Lindol Houston Sisemore), mother (Lois Jean Smith of Denison, Texas) and sister (Judy Shelton of Denison, Texas). She is survived by her sons (Brian Sisemore of Sherman, Texas) and (Brad Sisemore and wife Carrie of Pottsboro, Texas), brother (Ronnie Smith and wife Shelia of Sadler, Texas), grandchildren (Holden Keenan, Scout Norris & Emma Norris all of Pottsboro, Texas), nieces (Cortney Hunkapillar & husband Darren of Denison, Texas), (Tara Rice & husband Trent of Sherman, Texas), (Jackie Manning & husband Norman of Denison, Texas), brother in law (Larry Sisemore & wife De An of Sherman, Texas), sisters in law (Dorothy Bartlett & husband Alden of Essex Junction, Vermont) and (Martha Tate & husband James of Sherman, Texas) as well as many great-nieces, nephews, cousins and so many other loving family members and friends. Jeanne had so many cherished life time friendships of over 50 to 60 years (A Friend Always).

Jeanne has requested specifically that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the following organizations: Southwest Transplant Alliance (Organ Donation/The Gift of Life), Zola Levitt Ministries, The Voice of the Martyrs, Franklin Graham Evangelistic Association & Samaritans Purse, Charles Stanley/In Touch Ministries, Grayson Bible Baptist Church Mission & Youth Program and Home Hospice of Grayson County.

The family of Martha Jeanne Sisemore wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Robert Joe Church (her primary doctor) and to Home Hospice of Grayson County. The family would also like to thank everyone that brought food, sent cards, flowers, text messages and PRAYED for Jeanne.

Condolences

i have fond memories of Jeanne Sisemore over many years. Used to run into her in Kroger. She was always a sparkle and breath of fresh air to fellowship with. I was so glad to see her come back 'home' to Grayson Bible Baptist! My family [Carey] always loved her and Lynn dearly! Can't believe she is gone so suddenly but I know she is truly home now! Will miss her sweet spirit and smile! Anita McDaniel

I am blessed to have Jeanne as my friend. I only met her about 2 years ago but we made a special connection. She was always bringing me little gifts and snacks. I will always think of her and miss her when I wear the hats and socks she gave me. I will miss her smile and sassy humor. Jeanne was a beautiful person inside and out. I love you my friend and I will miss you.
