She is survived by her children, Terry Hendricks, Deb Waterman, Karen Jones, Sharon Nelms, and sons-in-laws Steven Nelms and Keith Jones.

She is survived by 13 grandchildren and spouses: Kim Malone, Joe and Kelly Hansen, Matt and Cheri Moschella, Jason and Maggie Klein, Daniel and Stephanie Woods, Brandon Davis, Traci Davis, Michael and Bethany Willcox.

She is survived by 11 great grandchildren: Dessa Contoai, Bryan Daniel O’Shields, Logan, Sophie, and Ada Hanson, Emily and Alice Moschella, Amelia and Juliet Woods, David and Aiden Willcox. She was born in Mart Texas on March 29th, 1926. Mary graduated from Howe High School and soon moved to Dallas to work at the Sears and Roebuck. She next found work for at the railroad running a comptometer machine. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang in a touring railroad choir. She sang in Methodist church choirs every place she lived and enjoyed using the gift of voice that the Lord gave her.

She married Winford Elbert Hendricks on June 25, 1946. They had 4 children and she worked mostly in bookkeeping departments at banks, while maintaining a household and always cooking a hot meal and homemade dessert.

In 1967, Mary faced one of the most difficult challenges of her life: divorce from Bill and loss of her job. Suddenly, she was a single, unemployed mom of 4 children. She moved back to Sherman Texas and became a member of Key Memorial Methodist Church and found great comfort in the strength of the Lord. Her last job was at Grayson Bank where she was a Vice President and in charged of the bookkeeping department.

At age 70 she retired having ensured that all four children graduated from college. She kept busy by volunteering at her church by keeping their books, by delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, and by helping at the Green House that provided the poor with food and clothing.

In her 80’s, she faced her last challenge being imprisoned with Alzheimer’s. To the end despite her disease she recognized her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always thanked her visitors for coming.

The funeral will be held at Dannel Funeral Home at 302 South Walnut, Sherman Tx at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 1st. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Meals on Wheels Texoma, 4114 Airport Drive, Denison, TX 75020. You also may use Meals on Wheels website, www.MOWOT.org.

The pallbearers are Steven Nelms, Keith Jones, Joe Hanson, and Brandon Davis.

Terry, Deb, Karen, Sharon, and families, I'm so very sorry to learn about the death of your sweet Mom. I remember her very well - singing in the choir at Key Memorial UMC, enjoying Sunday School class with my parents, and being so kind to everyone she knew. My thoughts and prayers are with you in the weeks ahead as you celebrate her life and grieve your sad loss. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4

To the family of Mary Hendricks My deepest sympathy to you and your family. It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take someone you love. When it happens the thought of never being able to talk to laugh with or being able to hold again can be difficult to bear. This pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your loved ones up in heaven. The Bible however gives us hope. In John 5:28;29. We find that those who are in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (Jesus)and come out to a resurrection of live and live in a paradise earth, with or without any more death, evil or sorrows.. Our love God Jehovah's through his son Jesus gives us this hope. Sincerely Jana Carles
